It's really irritating because a friend of mine started having the same issue with his mac pro a few weeks ago when he first did the iTunes update, and now his mac won't even recognize his MOTU 828! The only reason I did the update (I normally hold out forever on itunes updates, pc or mac), is because I have a season pass for a TV show and when one of the new episodes became available last week I got a download error saying I HAD to install the new iTunes in order to download the desired content. Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order: iTunes. Anyone else here having issues like this? I have repaired permissions, and nothing changed. It may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes. Force quitting and reselecting options in many different combinations doesn't help. I click on a track, it shows it is playing in the transport (meaning the pause button is displayed) but the counter and time bar do not move, and then iTunes crashes. Then, however, if I try to switch it back to my interface (mackie onyx) I get serious beacballing and iTunes stops responding.

Then I pause a song, go to system prefs and change to the internal speakers on my iMac. Songs play fine through my interface which leads to my monitors.

Say I boot my computer, and pull up iTunes. The problem is mostly within iTunes itself, but basically goes like this. Ever since the newest update to iTunes 7.6.1, I am having trouble switching between my system sound and my interface when need be.
